I am applying for the Administrative Assistant job at FastNet Corp. as advertised in last Sunday's San Francisco Chronicle. I have 8+ years of experience as an admin assistant, and could leverage this know-how to rapidly come up to speed in your organization.
As an administrative assistant, my success is linked to the success of the executives I support. My job is Increase their productivity by relieving them of a myriad of administrative functions. For example, I manage their calendars using Microsoft Outlook, setting up and scheduling meetings, and rearrange and juggle conflicting appointments based on priorities. I schedule end-to-end travel, including international travel, especially to India and the Far East. I create and design PowerPoint presentations, and am skilled in all the Microsoft Office applications.
A good administrative assistant needs management skills herself. Coordinating and setting up meetings that bring together personnel from many remote locations is an exercise in project management, and is a skill I'm quite proud of. In addition to my administrative assistant responsibilities, I often am called upon to handle special projects, such as organizing a security audit or coordinating an office move to a new location.
