Re: Radiologic Technologist III position
I have eight years of acute care hospital experience as a medical records coding specialist. My medical coding qualifications include certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT). ICD-9-CM and CPT coding/abstracting are particular strengths. I broke into the field as a medical coder following a full-time HIT program in 2003.
Currently I work in a 350+ bed Bay Area hospital handling medical coding for patient records.
Completing charts, assembling and analyzing charts, using the appropriate ICD-9-CM and CPT coding and abstracting are areas of specific expertise. Selecting/assigning/auditing the appropriate patient diagnostic and procedure codes are challenges I handle on a daily basis.
In spite of my technical abilities, I'm a people person and enjoy working closely with other departments on billing and claim denial-type issues. Additionally I provide training to other medical records coding staff on particular complexities of various insurance submission scenarios.
I believe my medical coding expertise, developed in an acute care environment quite similar to Kaiser's, would enable me to quickly make a significant contribution.
I would welcome the opportunity to personally provide you with more information on my background, and learn more about medical coding careers at Kaiser.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey Stanton
