I am applying for the Registered Physical Therapist position advertised in last Sunday's San Jose Mercury. I am an RPT with 10+ years of physical therapy experience and am looking for a new opportunity in physical therapy, having recently relocated to the Bay Area from Southern California.

My PT education, licensing and certification qualifications I believe meets or exceeds your requirements:

Current California Registered Physical Therapist license
10+ years experience as a registered physical therapist
Masters degree in Physical Therapy from an APTA-approved school of physical therapy
BLS/CPR certifications
Bilingual English/Spanish (which has proved highly beneficial in California clinical settings)

My most recent physical therapist assignment was in an 80 bed acute care hospital caring for a diverse set of patients, from children to geriatric. I conducted needs assessments of my patients' rehabilitative requirements, evaluating muscle, neurological, skeletal problems. Through direct therapy I helped my patients restore function and prevent or improve disabilities from surgery, disease or injury. For me, nothing is more rewarding than helping a patient overcome dysfunction after a health impairment.

PT training and supervision, in my mind, is an important job of the physical therapist. In my current RPT role I supervise two PT assistants, handling their daily scheduling. Additionally, I've provided training in PT programs for nurses, medical staff and patient family members. You will find I am a positive, enthusiastic partner with physicians and other members of the medical team enlisted in the charge of achieving high-quality, multidisciplinary patient care outcomes.
