Re: Radiologic Technologist III position
I am applying for the Radiologic Technologist III position that Kaiser has posted on indeed.com (job #046555). I have long admired Kaiser's fine record in the health-care field, and the well-deserved reputation of their excellent medical staff. This opinion is held not only as a professional radiographer, but from my personal experience working as a X-Ray Tech and Radiologic Technologist at Kaiser's Santa Teresa Hospital early in my career.
I now have 10+ years in the radiology imaging field as a Radiologic Technologist. I am a ARRT-registered radiologic technologist, as well as a California Certified Radiologic Technologist. I hold a California Fluoroscopy permit, a California venipuncture certificate, and have my BLS. As my attached resume will show, the last 6+ years I have worked in hospital acute care settings performing a wide variety of radiography exams at UCSF and California Pacific Medical Center. I would be happy to provide detailed references.
I feel that I bring much more to my work than knowledge of the requisite radiologic technology. For instance,
my patient-centered approach would work well with Kaiser's culture of care. The people side of this job -- getting a good sense of the patient, explaining the procedure, helping them understand what we are doing and gaining their cooperation -- to me this is every bit as important as the technical know-how required of the Radiologic Technologist.
I also believe that grooming the next generation of radiologic technology students and working with rad tech interns is one of the most important, and fulfilling, aspects of being a senior radiologic tech. I can leverage my acute care background in my student development work, providing real world clinical insight.
I hope that my rad tech experience and related imaging background is what Kaiser is seeking. My enclosed resume has further details. I look forward to having the opportunity to discuss your radiologic technologist needs in person in the near future.
Sincerely,
Carolyn Hyatt
