Re: Diagnostic Medical Sonographer II position
I am applying for the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer position that Saint Barnabas has posted on indeed.com (job #076555). I have long admired Saint Barnabas's fine record in the health-care field, and the well-deserved reputation of their excellent medical staff. I would be honored to have the opportunity to continue my sonography career at such a fine institution.
I now have 5+ years in the sonography field as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. I am a RDMS-certified sonographer and hold a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer bachelors degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University - College at Florham. I'm also a member of SDMS and am CPR certified. As my attached resume will show, I have worked in hospital acute care settings my entire career performing a wide variety of sonography procedures. I would be happy to provide detailed references.
I have wide experience in both vascular and general ultrasound: small parts, abdomen, OB/GYN level I and II, BPPs; vascular studies such as upper and lower venous Doppler’s, vein mapping, carotids, aorta/iliac studies, segmental and PVRs, and arterial Dopplers. I believe this ultrasound expertise meets Saint Barnabas' requirements for its Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
Additionally, I feel that I bring much more to my work than simply the technical knowledge required of an ultrasound technician. The people side of this job -- getting a good sense of the patient, explaining the procedure, relieving any anxiety, helping position patients for optimal images -- to me this is every bit as important as the technical know-how required of the RDMS.
I hope that my sonographic experience and related imaging background is what Saint Barnabas is seeking. My enclosed resume has further details. I look forward to having the opportunity to discuss your sonographer needs in person in the near future.
Sincerely,
Amy Cooper
