I have 8+ years of experience as a veterinary technician and am applying for the veterinary technician position listed in last Sunday's Tribune.

I am a registered veterinary technician, licensed by the state since 2002. I have served as a vet tech in several different capacities, particularly in animal hospitals handling both preventive and emergency care. All facets of animal care have been under my purview: assisting in surgeries, laboratory procedures, equipment sterilization, radiology, administering injections, phlebectomy samples of bodily fluids and more. I have an associate degree in veterinary technologies and have been a member of our state's Association of Veterinary Technicians since graduation.

Apart from my veterinary technician technical skills, I have always had a passion for animal care. Starting in high school I volunteered at the SPCA Animal Shelter and discovered a love for working with animals that still runs strong. Caring for animals -- helping them get healthy again -- I can't imagine a better job.
